GOD HAS DONE AMAZING THINGS AT SOUTHWINDS! But there is so much more to accomplish for His glory. Over 80% of the West San Joaquin Valley doesn't know Jesus christ. That's 4 out of 5 neighbors on your street. Thousand of people are beginning to move into our area again. God has blessed us so that we can bless Him and bless others by living for His kingdom.
Our current reality is that we are running out of space to effectively serve the people of the West San Joaquin Valley. Our children's classrooms are sometimes overcrowded. Seats can be hard to find in our worship services. Faithfulness to God's blessings calls us to move forward for His glory and for the good of our communities.
THAT'S WHAT NEXTGEN IS ALL ABOUT. The heart of Southwinds is a heart for people far from God, people who don't know God yet. As sinners saved by God's grace, we long for others to know what we have found in Jesus Christ. And we don't just want lives changed today and tomorrow, at Southwinds we desire for generations to come to meet Jesus and have their eternity changed.
NextGen will address our challenges by giving us the permanent Worship Center that our Sprung building was never intended to be and allowing us to double our Children and Student Ministry space. As we follow Jesus, who knows where He will take us next?
I'M ASKING YOU TO PRAYERFULLY EMBRACE THE CHALLENGE OF NEXTGEN. I'm asking you to take a Spiritual journey with your Southwinds family over the next few weeks. It's a journey we're taking for people we haven't met yet, for children who haven't been born yet. It's a journey that will call for radical, even sacrificial generosity. Pray faithfully about what God is calling you to do through nextGen. As we follow God together, we can make an eternal impact on the next generation.
FOR THE GENERATIONS,
isn't it crazy how time flies?
For 13 years, I've had the privilege of serving the Southwinds family. I've watched God work, taking a portable church of 750 meeting at West High to a church of over 1250 meeting now on our own campus. I've rejoiced as we've seen 1,050 people baptized, as hundreds of you have joined small groups, served others, and shared your faith in Tracy, Mountain House, and Lathrop.
